The Kenyan manufacturing firm Makiga Engineering Services Limited is highlighting Kenya on the African map by covering more than 20 countries and even beyond this continent.

Having started more than 30 years ago, they specialise in making construction machines both manual and hydraulic.

This firm is known for its famous Interlocking Stabilized Soil Blocks (ISSB) Pressing Machines which are used globally to change lives of people like during the reconstruction of Haiti after it was hit by the devastating earthquake eight years ago; the machines were used to build housing units. Their ISSB pressing machines are durable, affordable, and ecofriendly. They are known to reduce by half of the total construction costs: these include both labour and construction materials.

Africans are fond of these machines due to their affordability, durability as well as their eco-friendliness. Schools, shelters, housing units, business and shopping centres, homes for vulnerable people… were built using the same machines by all class of people.

Nevertheless, Makiga Engineering Services Ltd have sold their machines to the United Nations (UN), Governments around the world, real estate companies, entrepreneurs, individuals, research institutions and so on. All these clients are based around the world: USA universities, Israel and Haiti; and to more than 20 African countries and still counting: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, South Sudan, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, DR Congo, Ghana, Cameroun, Zimbabwe, Botswana… and so on.

Not only Africans are researching to solve their own problems, but also these same solutions are used for the betterment of the whole world.
